Launch of WINGAS Web Portal

With the launch of our Customer Web Portal, we have taken the lead on support services for our customers in the UK market.

UK gas customers can now finally have access to their own dedicated energy supply site, where they will find everything relevant for monitoring and managing their energy usage both in terms of consumption and in terms of cost.

Energy consumption
The consumption related data provides the reads of meters (daily for DM and monthly for NDM), the respective caloric values and energy consumption in kWh.This may also be aggregated for a site with multiple meters.Graphic capabilities allow visualising developments over specified time intervals, which provides insight to consumption patterns, peaks and troughs. Energy management starts with measuring energy usage, and the Web Portal provides a perfect basis for that.

Market information
All market reports published by WINGAS will be accessible on the Web Portal including the daily morning report and lunch update as well as any other reports relevant for understanding the dynamics of the traded gas market.

Billing
Each customer will find an overview of all invoices issued over the period of their supply contract, starting from the day the Web Portal is launched, albeit some earlier invoices are already in the system. Clicking on a specific invoice on the overview will bring up a copy of the actual invoice issued. This may be used to provide our customers with copies for other involved departments that need to process invoices, or for agents and consultants, supporting the customer. The access to the Web Portal can be virtually anywhere, provided username and password are provided.

Transparency
In addition to the information categories described above, the Web Portal provides general information to our customers such as energy conversion formula’s, links to the network operators, regulatory and other relevant organisations. Customers can use these links to check transport costs and other third party charges that the supplier needs to pass through to the customer. Transport for example must be arranged by the supplier and not the customer directly under the UK gas supply market regulations.

Future developments
We are currently in the final stages of developing our Automated Reading Service (AMR) in such a way, that it will allow NDM customers to have the same functionality on the Web Portal as DM customers, meaning daily consumption information. In addition, we foresee that the Web Portal will provide access to downloadable tools for risk monitoring such as position monitoring and simplified VaR assessments suitable for purchase managers in industrial and commercial businesses.

I believe that this information provides our customers with an unprecedented level of visibility and control of their gas consumption and the gas markets.

Best regards
